Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Victoria Delgado is the Head of the Cardiovascular Imaging Department of the Heart Institute at the University Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, as well as the Scientific Director of the Centre of Comparative Medicine and Bioimaging in Badalona, Spain. She graduated from the medical school at the University of Barcelona and completed her clinical residency in cardiology at the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona. Following this, she undertook a three-year fellowship at Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands, where she remained as a specialized multimodality imaging cardiologist from 2010 until 2021, and earned her PhD cum laude with a thesis focused on novel cardiac imaging technologies.

Dr. Delgado is a highly cited investigator with an H-factor of 94 and more than 800 peer-reviewed publications. She has contributed to more than 20 medical textbooks, including the landmark publication Hurst's The Heart. She has served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography and currently serves as a Senior Editor for the journal Circulation. Her extensive leadership within the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) spans multiple guideline task forces, the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee, and a role as a councilor on the ESC Board. She currently serves as the President of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.
