Frieder Braunschweig is Professor of Cardiology at the Dept of Medicine (Huddinge), Karolinska Institutet, where he leads the ICCA unit (Integrative Cardiovascular and Ageing Research). He is Senior Consultant in Cardiology and Director of Research and Development at the Heart, Vascular and Neuro Theme, Karolinska University Hospital. His research focuses on arrhythmia and heart failure, including atrial fibrillation, catheter ablation, implantable cardiac devices, remote home monitoring, and sports cardiology. He currently chairs a regional implementation program for home telemonitoring. Dr Braunschweig is a former President of the Swedish Society of Cardiology and has held several positions within the European Society of Cardiology and its associations for heart rhythm and heart failure. He serves as Deputy Editor of European Heart Journal Open.
