Kakhaber Chelidze, MD, PhD, is a prominent specialist in Internal Medicine and a leading academic figure in Georgia. As of 2024, he serves as the Clinical Director of the TSMU SMU & Ingorokva High Medical Technologies University Clinic. He is also the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the same institution and a Full Professor at Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU).

Throughout his career, Professor Chelidze has balanced high-level clinical management with academic excellence. His previous leadership roles include serving as the Vice-rector of TSMU (2013–2015) and Dean of the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (2006–2013). Since 2022, he has contributed to the global scientific community as the Editor-in-Chief of the open-access journal "Georgian Biomedical News."

In the field of clinical research, Professor Chelidze has extensive experience as a Principal Investigator for numerous Phase II and III multicenter clinical trials, focusing on pulmonology, interventional cardiology, and diabetology. He is a recognized expert in the assessment of ventricular function in elite athletes and the management of arterial hypertension.

His professional prestige is highlighted by several awards, including being named "Best Clinical Professor" in 2019 and 2022, and receiving the "2023 Century Doctor" title from the Transcaucasian Doctors' League. He is the founder and General Secretary of the Georgian College of Internal Medicine and an active member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).
