George Gegelashvili is a highly accomplished clinical neurologist, pharmacologist, and expert in health policy based in Georgia. He currently serves as the Director of the Health Institute of Georgia and the President of the Tsotne Chkhikvishvili Georgian Headache Society. His expertise encompasses medication safety, patient rights, and hospital management, developed through extensive international training in the US, Israel, and Europe.
Dr. Gegelashvili has significant legislative experience, having served as a Member of the Parliament of Georgia and Deputy Chairman of the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee (2004–2008), where he authored laws on public nutrition and patient safety. He is a senior advisor to the Georgian Association for the Study of Pain and a long-standing contributor to WHO initiatives on rational drug procurement and patient safety solutions. He has authored numerous publications on migraine, low back pain, and medication safety.
