Enrico Maggi is a Full Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Florence and the Director of the Translational Immunology Unit at the Bambino Gesù Children Hospital in Rome. Throughout his prolific career, he has achieved global recognition as a leader in immunology , contributing significantly to the discovery of human Th1 and Th2 cell subsets and regulatory mechanisms governing IgE synthesis.
Professor Maggi has published over 500 papers, including high-impact articles in Nature, Science, and The Journal of Experimental Medicine , generating a Google Scholar H-index of 104 with more than 44,600 citations. He has led multiple European Union funding projects , served as President of the Italian Society of Allergology, Asthma and Clinical Immunology (SIAAIC) , and holds five international patents.
