Céline Dewachter

Céline Dewachter is a Cardiologist and Professor with extensive expertise in Pulmonary Hypertension and Heart Failure, currently holding a full-time position as Professor in Cardiology at HUB-Erasme Hospital, Université Libre de Bruxelles, since October 2025. Prior to this, she was an Associated Professor and a Resident in the same clinic. Her academic career at the Université Libre de Bruxelles includes various teaching roles in physiology and physiopathology for medical students, dating back to 2002. She holds an MD and a PhD in Medical Science, with her doctoral thesis focusing on the "Pathophysiology and pathobiology of right ventricular failure." Dr. Dewachter is actively involved in clinical training, teaching, and research, having served as a co-investigator in clinical trials and as a promotor or co-promotor for numerous medical and doctoral theses, specializing in topics such as right heart function, pulmonary vascular disease, and heart failure. Her publication record includes multiple peer-reviewed articles and an accepted book chapter, and she has received several prestigious awards and research fellowships, including the Prix Jack Chapman and the Professor Pierre Rijlant Award, acknowledging her work in right heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
