Anne Tybjaerg-Hansen

Anne Tybjaerg-Hansen is a Professor of Clinical Biochemistry with a Focus on Translational Molecular Cardiology at the University of Copenhagen, as well as a Chief Physician at the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Section for Molecular Genetics, at Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital) in Denmark. She earned her medical degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1981. Her extensive research background includes tenures at the Rigshospitalet Lipid Clinic, the Hagedorn Research Laboratory in Denmark, and three years with the British Heart Foundation's Molecular Biology Research Group in London, UK.

Professor Tybjaerg-Hansen serves on the steering committees of both the Copenhagen City Heart Study and the Copenhagen General Population Study, and she is the current chairperson of the European Lipoprotein Club. Her academic and research contributions focus heavily on the genetics of cardiovascular disease, polygenic scores, rare lipid disorders, hypertriglyceridemia, and the clinical implications of heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia. She has been a prominent contributor and speaker at numerous European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) congresses, notably delivering the prestigious Anitschkow Lecture in 2018.
