Luca Rampoldi

Luca Rampoldi graduated in Biological Sciences in Milan, Italy and obtained his PhD in Genetics from the University of Padua, Italy. He carried out his postdoctoral training at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics in Oxford, UK and the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan. He has been awarded Assistant and Associate Telethon Scientist positions. He is currently Head of research unit and Director of the Division of Genetics and Cell Biology at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute and Associate Professor in Medical Genetics of Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele. His research is focused on the molecular bases of renal genetic diseases, with a main interest in understanding the biology of uromodulin and its role in kidney disease.
