Liam Hill

I attained my PhD from Cardiff University for my work on cell competition at the earliest stages of pancreatic cancer. I joined the group of Professor Charles Swanton in Autumn 2019 to study the earliest stages of lung cancer. I have studied how air pollutants drive lung cancer, specifically in people who never smoke using mouse models and clinical samples. This has challenged our understanding of early tumorigenesis and offers opportunities for molecular cancer prevention.
