alt alt

Event information

INTRO SPEECH

Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecological cancer worldwide (WHO 2024). Improved diagnostic procedures and changes in lifestyle (diet, obesity, environment) are the main explanations. Since a screening test is not yet available, the right strategy is a new definition of women at risk of developing endometrial cancer.

With the goal of generating a modern algorithm, the present expert meeting will update on:

1. Genetic and epigenetic studies;

2. Estrogen receptors and environmental endocrine disruptors;

3. Menstrual cycle and menopause;

4. Metabolism;

5. Microbiota;

6. Imaging (ultrasound and MRI) or minimally invasive technologies (hysteroscopy);

7. Endometrial disorders;

8. Surgical strategies;

9. Pharmacogenomics;

10. Lifestyle.

The great atmosphere of Fiesole, founded in the 4th Century BC, located on top of a wonderful hill overlooking Florence, rich in archaeological sites (such as the Roman Theatre) and medieval sites (the Cathedral), will foster great presentations and a very productive discussion. The hospitality offered by the Fondazione Menarini will be the perfect venue.

Thanks to the great contribution of speakers and moderators, the Meeting will result in a real and updated contribution to improve women’s health.
