Vojtech Melenovsky

Vojtech Melenovsky

Vojtech Melenovsky is a Full Professor of Internal Medicine at Charles University and serves as the Medical Director of Heart Failure and Research Deputy Director of Cardiology at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague. He completed his medical education at Charles University and conducted post-doctoral research at Johns Hopkins University and the National Institute on Aging in the USA. His career highlights include a Fulbright visiting professorship at the Mayo Clinic and the founding directorship of the Laboratory for Molecular and Experimental Cardiology at IKEM. His research expertise lies in the pathophysiology of heart failure, including preserved ejection fraction, heart failure hemodynamics, and myocardial metabolism. He has significant experience as a principal investigator in numerous clinical trials and has a substantial academic record with over 230 publications, more than 36,000 citations, and an h-index of 61. He is actively involved in professional bodies such as the European Society of Cardiology's Heart Failure Association and the American Heart Association.
