Maria Dorobantu

Maria Dorobantu is an Emeritus Professor of Cardiology and Internal Medicine at the ”Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. She is a highly distinguished member of the international scientific community, holding titles as a Corresponding Member of the Romanian Academy and an Associate Member of the French National Academy of Medicine. Her academic career also includes serving as a Visiting Professor at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.

Professor Dorobantu founded the Romanian Society of Hypertension in 2011, serving as its president until 2018 , and previously chaired the ”Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation” Working Group of the European Society of Cardiology. Her extensive research footprint is reflected in her bibliometric metrics, accumulating a Hirsch index of 49 and over 28,000 citations within the Web of Science database.
