Gabriele G. Schiattarella is an MD/PhD cardiologist-scientist who leads a research group focused on the molecular mechanisms driving heart failure and cardiometabolic diseases. His work explores metabolic dysfunction and interorgan crosstalk, particularly between the heart, liver, and adipose tissue, to uncover novel therapeutic targets.
With a prestigious academic background from the Federico II University of Naples and advanced research experience at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, he has received numerous honors, including the ERC Starting Grant and awards from the European Society of Cardiology. He currently holds leadership and professorial roles in Berlin at the Charité University Medical Center and the Max Delbruck Center.
