Professor Derek Peng Beng Chew is a preeminent clinical cardiologist, interventionalist, and health systems researcher based in Australia. He is currently the Professor and Service Director at Monash Heart and the Victorian Heart Hospital. Professor Chew has held high-level governmental roles, including serving as the Chief Executive of the Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health for the Government of South Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and the Vice President of the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology.

Professor Chew is internationally recognized for his pioneering research in Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) and clinical trial methodology. He has secured over $23 million in research funding and has led major registries and trials that have redefined evidence-based care for heart disease.
