Binayak Gautam

Dr. Binayak Gautam is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Cardiology at Bir Hospital, NAMS, in Kathmandu, Nepal. He holds a DM in Cardiology and was awarded the Nepal Bidhya Bhusan “Ka” by the Government of Nepal for his academic excellence. Dr. Gautam is skilled in a broad range of interventional procedures, including coronary angioplasty and pacemaker implantation, and is an expert in 3D transthoracic echocardiography.

His research is extensively published in the Nepalese Heart Journal and the Journal of the Nepal Medical Association, with a primary interest in carotid intima-media thickness and its association with coronary artery disease. He is a frequent faculty member at the Annual International Conference of the Cardiac Society of Nepal and is currently involved in the PREVENT study, an integrated program for the prevention of rheumatic heart disease.
