Bambang Widyantoro

Bambang Widyantoro finished his clinical cardiology training at Universitas Indonesia and later pursued fellowship in critical care and interventional cardiology at the National Cardiovascular Center (NCVC) Harapan Kita Jakarta. He currently holds a lecturer position in the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine at Universitas Indonesia and leads the research division at NCVC Harapan Kita. Since his PhD term at Kobe University Japan, he has been immersed in endothelin research. His inspiration was ignited by dedication of senior experts in the endothelin field, especially during his first participation in the Endothelin Conference in 2007. In 2019, he co-chaired the ET-16 conference alongside his mentor, Professor Noriaki Emoto. As researcher at the Indonesian Medical Education and Research Institute (IMERI), his areas of expertise encompass acute cardiac care, advanced heart failure, hypertension, diabetic cardiomyopathy and the application of AI in cardiology.

Currículum Vitae

Bambang Widyantoro completed his clinical cardiology training at Universitas Indonesia and further specialized in critical care and interventional cardiology through a fellowship at the National Cardiovascular Center (NCVC) Harapan Kita, Jakarta. He earned his PhD in Cardiovascular Science from Kobe University, Japan. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine at Universitas Indonesia and leads the Cardiovascular Research Center at NCVC Harapan Kita. As a critical care cardiologist in the Intensive and Cardiovascular Care Unit (ICVCU) at NCVC Harapan Kita, his clinical and research interests include acute cardiovascular care, advanced heart failure, hypertension, and diabetic heart disease, with a focus on genomic and AI-based approaches. He is also actively involved in academic and translational research as a Principal Investigator at the Indonesian Medical Education and Research Institute (IMERI–FKUI).
