Massy is Professor of Nephrology and Head of the Division of Nephrology at the Paris West University (UVSQ) - Ambroise Paré University Hospital, Paris, and Co-Director of Research Unit INSERM U-1018 CESP Team 5 at the UVSQ, Versailles/Villejuif, France. Prof. Massy was a Member of ERA-EDTA Council and Chair for the ERA-EDTA Registry and Clinical Governance Affairs (until June 2021). He was an advisory board for the EURECAM Working Group, and CKD-MBD WG Working Group, and a current member and former co-chairman of European Uremic Toxins (EUTox) group. He was a Core-member of the Executive KDIGO board. He is an active member of CONNECT European consortium. He obtained “Fondation du Rein” Award at Sept 2010 and Hungarian Society of Nephrology award at November 2015. He was the Recipient of the Légion d’honneur (Legion of Honour, Knight degree), at 2021 received from French President Emmanuel Macron, (a high French decoration to reward most deserving citizens in different fields of activity) for outstanding contributions to promoting nephrology around the world (particularly in south East Asia and Africa). He obtained ERA award for Outstanding Clinical Contributions to Nephrology at May 2022. His research areas of special interest include uremic toxins, cardiovascular disease, vascular calcification, hyperlipidemia, oxidative stress, and chronic renal failure.
