Yang-Yu Liu

Dr. Yang-Yu Liu serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an Associate Scientist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009, and then received his postdoctoral training at Northeastern University. His groundbreaking work on network controllability was published as a cover story in Nature, a cover story in PNAS, and an article in Reviews of Modern Physics, among others, garnering widespread media attention. In 2013, Dr. Liu established his own lab, where he has since dedicated his efforts to human microbiome research. His contributions to this field have been published as original research articles in Nature, Nature Methods, Nature Machine Intelligence, Nature Ecology & Evolution, Nature Mental Health, etc., and an invited review article in Cell Systems, and have received a variety of media coverage such as NBC News, The Economist, and WIRED, among others.
