I started my medical career after one year housemanship training in Mandalay General Hospital. I destined to be a clinician despite other career pathway that are more profitable at that time. I worked and gained general clinical experience as a medical officer in a private hospital. And after entering government service, I continue my job at private hospital as part time so as not to lose thread with clinical life. I began my three-year formal training in internal medicine at Mandalay General Hospital after successfully passing government selection examination. As Mandalay General Hospital is the largest tertiary hospital in upper Myanmar, I have received tremendous experience in managing diseases during my trinee life and registrar life. After two years as medical registrar, I entered my clinical fellow life in Cardiology after good mentorship of Prof Than Than Kyaing, Prof Kyaw Soe Win and Prof Khin Oo Lwin. As Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in Mandalay General Hospital is also the largest centre in upper Myanmar and the most active and comprehensive centre in entire Myanmar, I had a good chance to learn and practice cardiology in good mentorship and rich academia.
