Stefano Uccella

Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of the Ospedale degli Infermi, Biella HIGHLIGHTS One of the youngest Directors of an Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in Italy, he has a strong background in all fields of advanced gynecologic surgery and pelvic anatomy, particularly in gynecologic oncology. With a PhD in Experimental Medicine and Oncology, he is the author of over 300 scientific papers, with publications in numerous prestigious international journals. CLINICAL ACTIVITY Main activities in the field of complex procedures for benign and malignant gynecological diseases. He coordinates the activity of his Department both in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is consultant for advanced gynecologic surgical procedures at the Hospital of Aosta. RESEARCH ACTIVITY Research activity in the field of minimally invasive procedures for gynecologic oncology and benign conditions. He is now coordinating the first prospective study on the application of sentinel node in early stage ovarian cancer. TEACHING ACTIVITY Faculty of the International School of Surgical Anatomy. Faculty at the Master in Minimally Invasive Gynecology of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Rome. Faculty at the Master in Minimally Invasive Gynecology of the Catholic University of Bologna. He has given several lectures and has been tutor at many different international courses on Surgical Anatomy. In the past he has been appointed at the Univeristy of Insubria and at the LUdeS University of Lugano (Switzerland).
