Founding President of The Ruth Foundation for Palliative and Hospice Care while recently accepting the assignment as President of the National Palliative and Hospice Care Council of the Philippines (Hospice Philippines Inc). She also serves in the Training and Advocacy Committee the Philippine Society of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (PSHPM), of which she is past president. Regionally, she has been a member of the 18th & 19th Council Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network and now participates in the International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care as their Advocacy Focal Person for the Philippines. Finishing her medical degree at the West Visayas University and internship at St. Luke!s Medical Center-Quezon City, Dr. Corvera proceeded into specialty training as a Family Medicine Specialist under the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Philippine General Hospital. Upon completion, she furthered to serve as Chief Resident and proceeded to sub-specialty training in Palliative and Hospice Care, which included a clinical attachment in the Department of Palliative Medicine - National Cancer Center, Singapore. Come 2005, she earned her Diploma in Palliative Medicine at the University of Wales - Cardiff. She is presently the affiliated with Asian Hospital and Medical Center, as Vice-Chairman of the Department of Occupational and Family Medicine but largely as a Palliative Medicine Specialist with hospice care training and advocacy, along with Cancer and Grief support programs as her main areas of practice and involvement.
