Dr. Rosa Corcoy graduated in Medicine at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with honors in 1982. She performed her residency training in Endocrinology and Nutrition and she received her PhD degree in 1993. She is currently the Director of the Diabetes Unit at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, Associate Professor of the Department of Medicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Group Leader in CIBER-BBN (corresponding to Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red - Bioingeniería, Biomateriales y Nanomedicina) and AGAUR (corresponding to Agència de Gestió d’Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca). She is a clinical endocrinologist and her research is mainly focused in endocrinological condiQons & pregnancy and Type 1 diabetes mellitus. She is the Principal InvesQgator of different research projects, among them the Diabetes and Pregnancy Vitamin D And Lifestyle IntervenJon for GestaJonal Diabetes Mellitus PrevenJon (DALI), funded under the EU 7th Framework program, ConJnuous Glucose Monitoring in Women with Type 1 Diabetes in Pregnancy Trial: A mulJ-center, mulJ-naJonal, randomized controlled trial (CONCEPTt), funded by the Juvenile Diabetes Research FoundaQon and Medical ComorbidiJes in bipolar disorder: clinical validaJon of risk factors and biomarkers to improve prevenJon and treatment (BIPCOM) funded by ERA PerMed. She has served in the Board of several academic societies and is currently the Treasurer of the European Diabetic Pregnancy Study Group. She has received several awards, among them the José Luis Rodriguez Miñón (Sociedad Española de Diabetes) in 2010 and the Jorgen Pedersen Award (European Diabetic Pregnancy Study Group) in 2012.
