Mirko Treccani achieved a BSc in Bioinformatics and a MSc in Molecular and Medical Biotechnology. Initially hesitant towards bioinformatics, he soon embraced the world of genomics, starting a PhD position in Applied Life and Health Sciences at the GM Lab (University of Verona). Currently, Mirko Treccani in a PhD Candidate in Applied Life and Health Sciences and he is shortly starting a post-doc in human genomics. During his PhD, Mirko has started working with different national and international research group, visiting and collaborating with high ranked institutions such as the Erasmus University Medical Center of Rotterdam, the University of Cambridge and the Harvard Medical School. Mirko's interests span across rare and complex diseases and human traits, investigating several life-threatening diseases with cutting edge genomic approaches, such as genome-wide association studies, genotype imputation and polygenic risk scores.
