Manolis S. Kallistratos is a cardiologist and clinical hypertension specialist certified by the European Society of Hypertension (ESH). He graduated from the University of Medicine Brescia, Italy, in 1998, where he obtained his license to practice medicine. He completed his PhD thesis focused on the effects of beta-blocker administration on NT-proBNP plasma levels in heart failure patients at the Athens University of Medicine in 2008, receiving a grade of excellent. His early clinical path included residencies and fellowships at institutions such as the Athens Medical Center, Metaxa General Hospital, the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, and a role as a Cardiology Registrar at Asklepeion General Hospital. From September 2011 to September 2021, Dr. Kallistratos served at Asklepeion General Hospital as the Head of the Antihypertensive Clinic (a European Centre of Excellence in Hypertension), and from 2017 to 2021, he also took on the role of Head of Heart Failure and Hypertension Cardiac Rehabilitation at the same hospital. Since September 2021, he has held the position of Deputy Director of the 2nd Department of Cardiology at Metropolitan Hospital. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and a past President of the Working Group of Arterial Hypertension of the Hellenic Society of Cardiology. Academically, he has published more than 80 papers, delivered over 300 presentations, and participated in major multi-center clinical trials and guidelines writing committees.
