Dr. Maddalena Lettino is a clinical cardiologist who has served as the Director of the Clinical Cardiology Department at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, Italy, since 2019. Alongside her hospital management responsibilities, she has been a regular lecturer and adjunct professor at the Universities of Milan and Pavia since 1997. To complement her medical practice with strategic administration insights, she obtained a Master in Health Economics from the London School of Economics in 2018.

Dr. Lettino's clinical research focuses primarily on the antithrombotic management of acute coronary syndromes, the primary and secondary biological mechanisms of coronary atherothrombosis, secondary prevention strategies in patients with coronary artery disease (encompassing both lipid-lowering and antithrombotic drugs), and anticoagulation therapy in thromboembolic disorders such as atrial fibrillation. She has a strong presence within the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), having served as President of the ESC Acute Cardiac Care Association and Chair of the Cardiovascular Heart Health Institute of the ESC in Brussels. She continues to shape European standards as an active member of both the Advocacy and Ethics Committees of the ESC, and as an editorial board member for specialized ESC publications.
