Kieran Docherty is Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology at the University of Glasgow and an Honorary Specialist Registrar in Cardiology at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, UK. Dr Docherty’s research interests are in the mechanisms and treatment of cardiovascular disease with a focus on heart failure. He also works on clinical trials in cardiovascular disease with a particular interest in evaluating the effects of drugs on left ventricular remodelling in patients with heart failure and following acute myocardial infarction. Dr Docherty is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). He was awarded the Young Clinical Investigator Award at the ESC Heart Failure Association Congress in 2022 and is a Cardiovascular Clinical Trialist’s (CVCT) Forum Future Trialist Fellow. He has co-authored over 90 publications in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Lancet and JAMA, and is the author of two chapters in the ESC Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine.
