Professor Juan Carlos Kaski is an internationally recognized authority in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, angina syndromes, and coronary pathophysiology. He currently serves as an Emeritus Professor of Cardiovascular Science at the Molecular and Clinical Sciences Research Institute, St George's, University of London. He also balances his academic duties with clinical roles as an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at both St George's Hospital and The Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK. Over his career, his academic contributions have earned him multiple Doctor Honoris Causa degrees from international universities and fellowships in over 30 scientific societies.
Professor Kaski's research interests center on the inflammatory and immunological mechanisms of atherosclerosis, microvascular and vasospastic angina, INOCA, MINOCA, biomarkers of cardiovascular risk, and the management of angina pectoris. He has authored more than 600 peer-reviewed scientific publications and edited 10 academic textbooks. In the field of medical publishing and global scientific translation, he plays a central role as the Editor-in-Chief of European Cardiology Review, a Deputy Editor of the European Heart Journal, and the Co-Editor of the ESC Handbook on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy, while also serving as a Past President of the International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy.
