Jordi Sunyer has been the Co-director of the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology in Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). Now he is a Research Professor at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal). Next to it he is Full Professor in Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. He is the founder and chair of the INMA and BISC birth cohorts in Spain and principal investigator of several international studies including the ERC-H2020 \"AIR-NB: Pre-natal exposure to urban AIR pollution and pre- and post-Natal Brain development“ and the ERC Advanced Grant \"BREATHE: BRain dEvelopment and Air polluTion ultrafine particles in scHool children\". International leadership in the effects of POPs, hormonal disruptors and air pollution on asthma, lung function, and neurodevelopment in children, with ˃ 800 scientific articles, cited ˃ 60,000 times. Ranked among the 10 top medicine scientists in Spain (1.4%), and the top 1000 in the world (0.1%). Active translation into guidelines and recommendations for WHO, UN-IPCS and government commissions and interventions.
