Inken Hilgendorf

Inken Hilgendorf, MD, is an expert in the care of young adults and adults with hematological diseases. She is the director of the blood and bone marrow stem cell transplantation program of the Clinic for Internal Medicine II, Hematology and Internal Oncology at the Jena University Hospital. She completed her medical studies at the University of Lübeck, qualifying in 2000 and obtained her doctorate in medicine in 2001. She completed her internal medicine residency training and her hematology-oncology fellowship at the Rostock University Hospital. Prof. Dr. Hilgendorf is a principal investigator on a number of clinical trials, a reviewer for several scientific journals and the author and co-author of over 100 manuscripts and 200 meeting abstracts. Prof. Dr. Hilgendorf is the head of the German AYA-Network, vice chairperson of the board of trustees of the German Foundation for Young Adults with Cancer and member of the EHA Taskforce for AYA with hematological diseases.
