School of Medicine, Tecnologico de Monterrey Monterrey, MX Dr. Azim is a medical oncologist, an adjunct professor of oncology at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and at the School of Medicine of Monterrey Institute of Technology. He also serves as faculty for the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the European School of Oncology (ESO). In addition, he is the director of Drug development at Innate Pharma. Dr. Azim has completed his medical oncology training in the National Cancer Institute in Cairo and the European Institute of Oncology in Milan. He then joined Institut Jules Bordet in Belgium where he worked for 8 years until 2016. During this period, he developed unique expertise in the management and biology of breast cancer in young women and its relation to pregnancy and fertility, a domain in which he is recognized as an international expert. Dr. Azim holds a Medical Degree from Cairo University, Master’s Degree in Oncology from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He received several awards, including the, ESMO Translational Research Award (2010), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Award (2015), and University of Padua Breast Cancer Award (2015). He published around 120 research papers, led and contributed to more than10 books. He served on several international guidelines committees in addition to serving as an invited speaker in more than 20 countries including an invited faculty to ASCO and ESMO annual meetings.
