Green Glenn Edward
I am a fellowship-trained otolaryngologist with special training and a clinical interest in complex airway reconstruction. I lead an airway team that has been treating complex airway disorders including laryngeal agenesis and tracheal agenesis. We treat life-threatening tracheobronchomalacia in children and adults due to congenital cartilaginous disorders, cardiovascular anomalies and prematurity. I am a coinventor of a 3D printed airway splint that was developed to treat tracheobronchomalacia. Under F.D.A provisions for emergency care, I was part of the surgically team that has successfully placed permanent and resorbable tracheal splints under F.D.A. provisions for emergency use. I have extensive surgical experience in airway surgery in adults and children, as well as animal models including rodents, pigs and companion dogs. I have been the medical director of several large clinical trials. Bryan Neel III, MD, PhD Distinguished Research Lecture, American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Contributions to Science My interests are in translational interventions in complex communications disorders involving the airway, speech and hearing. These interests include: (1) intervention trials and devices for airway obstruction, speech and hearing loss, (2) complex airway reconstruction and speech development, (3) genetic basis of disorders involving the airway, speech and hearing, and (4) clinical care of the complex pediatric airway, hearing and language development.
