Prof Carlo Bettocchi was born on the 7th of October 1964 in Rome (Italy) and is Urologist since 1994. Since January 2021, he is Chief of the Andrology and Male Genitalia Reconstructive Surgery Unit, Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences at Policlinico Riuniti - University of Foggia, Italy and he has been largely involved in both diagnostic and surgical patient’s care. He is Professor of Urology since 2008 and currently working in the University of Foggia, Italy. His research and clinical career have included positions in other european urological departments, such as the Academic Hospital of Maastricht, the Netherlands (with R. Janknegt - 1991), the Middlesex Hospital UCLH and King’s College Hospital, UK (with J.P. Pryor and D.J. Ralph - 1992-1995 and 2004-2008). He is nowadays working also in the Male Health International Surgical Center (MHISC) in Geneve (Swiss) where he operates on reconstructive surgery for male genitalia. Prof Bettocchi has produced, as author, more than 200 publications in national and international journals, chapters of books and national magazines. He is reviewer of several international scientific journals and has been a principal investigator or investigator on several protocols in the field of uro-andrology. He has been member of the EAU panel for Guidelines on \"Male Hypogonadism\" (2011-2018) and now he is member of the EAU panel for Guidelines on \"Sexual and Reproductive Health\" since 2018. Prof Bettocchi has been appointed as President of the European Society of Sexual Medicine (ESSM) till February 2023 and currently is Past President of ESSM. He is also Executive Member of both Andrological Section of the European Association of Urology (ESAU) and Italian National Observatory on Gender Dysphoria (ONIG) and he has been Honorary Consultant of the University College London Hospital NHS Trust (UK). He is also Visiting Professor in Saudi with license for working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 2013. In 2004-2005 he has been also Honorary Senior Lecturer of the University College London Hospital NHS Trust (UK) and he has the General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation. He is one of the members of the \"Male Health International Surgical Center\" based in Geneve (Switzerland) since 2015, center of excellence in Europe for male genital reconstructive surgery. His main topics are male sexual dysfunction, infertility and gender dysphoria. He is currently an internationally renowned surgeon in this area and is on the top of this field in our country. He is actually running an andrological out-patients clinic with referral patients complaining erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, infertility, LUTS, penile deformities (curvature, small penis and so on), undescended testicles, urethral injuries and others benign male genitalia problems. He is also performing surgical activity related to the previous listed pathologies, such as penile prosthesis, corporoplasty, urethroplasty, varicocele, orchidopexy, glans resurfacing, testicular biopsy, penile enhancement and enlargement and others male reproductive and genitalia procedures related.
