Donald E. Kohan, MD, PhD is Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah. A major focus of his basic research for over 30 years has been the role of endothelin in the regulation of kidney function and blood pressure in health and disease. He has translated this experience into helping guide clinical trials evaluating the renoprotective effects of endothelin receptor antagonists in a range of kidney diseases, including diabetes mellitus, IgA nephropathy, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, and others.
