Daniela Turchetti

Daniela Turchetti carries out and oversees clinical and research activities mainly focused on genetic predisposition to cancer. Graduated in Medicine and specialist in Oncology and Medical Genetics, since 2002 she has been responsible for the Cancer Genetics Clinic of the Medical Genetics Unit at the IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Bologna Policlinico S.Orsola-Malpighi; since March 2023, she is the head of the Unit. She is the reference person of a HUB in the Emilia- Romagna Region Network for familial risk of breast and ovarian cancer and the contact person for the European Network ERN GENTURIS, of which the IRCCS AOU of Bologna is a member. She is an Associate Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Bologna, teaching in the Medical School and in several Specialty Schools and Master Courses of the University of Bologna; she is current Director of the Specialty School in Medical Genetics. Her main research fields concern cancer manifestations associated with hereditary gene variants, the search for new cancer predisposition genes, PTEN-associated carcinogenesis and the psycho-social aspects of Clinical Genetics.
