Dr Carlo Tascini was born in 1963 in Marsciano (PG) Italy. He was graduated in Medicine at Perugia University in 1989 with highest degree and honor. Specialised in Infectious Diseases in 1993 and Specialised in Clinical Microbiology in 1997 both with highest degree and honor at Perugia University. Post-doctoral fellowship in Microbiology at Imperial College in London from 1997 to 1999. Research assistant and senior lecturer in Infectious Diseases at Pisa University Hospital (Italy) from 2000 to 2016. Head of Infectious Diseases unit at Cotugno Hospital in Naples (Italy) from 2016 until now. Research interest: Infections caused by MDR microrganism. Fungal infections especially cryptococcosis and candidemia. Synergism and combination therapy with antibiotics. Bacterial meningitis. Endocarditis.
