Anthony A. Luciano, M.D. is Professor and Vice-Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Director of Reproductive Surgery at The Center for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (CARS), in Farmington, Connecticut. Professor Luciano is one of the pioneers in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, focusing on reproductive surgery by laparoscopy and hysteroscopy in infertile women with endometriosis, uterine fibroids or tubal infertility. He is Associate Editor of J Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain (JEPPD), past editor of the Journal of AAGL and a member of the editorial board of the JMIG. He is a reviewer for Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fertility and Sterility, the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and the Journal of Reproductive Medicine. He is past President of AAGL, past President of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons and past President of the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy. Dr. Luciano has co- authored 140 publications in peer-reviewed journals, one book on laparoscopic surgery and has co- edited reviews and books on reproductive endocrinology, reproductive surgery and the management of menopause. Professor Luciano has conducted basic and clinical research in the areas of infertility, endometriosis, adhesion prevention, power sources in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and hormone replacement therapy in menopause. He has published extensively on these topics and he is a frequent lecturer nationally and internationally.
