Dr. Pai is Professor and Chair of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Michigan. He co-directs the Pharmacokinetics Core and holds an Associate Director role within the Morphomics Analysis Group. His research is focused on optimizing drug dosing in specific patient populations, such as those with obesity or impaired kidney function. Dr. Pai's innovative approach, termed "pharmacomorphomics," involves using repurposed CT scans to derive body composition and imaging biomarkers to predict pharmacological outcomes.
He completed his PharmD at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, followed by a residency at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York, and an infectious diseases/pharmacokinetics fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Pai has been recognized with the Russell R. Miller Award for his sustained and significant impact on the literature. He is also a Fellow and an Elected Regent of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology.
